DESCRIPTION

The Extron XTP CP Input and Output Boards enable long distance transmission of AV signals between the XTP CrossPoint® matrix switcher and remote XTP® transmitters and receivers. They can send video, audio, control, Ethernet, and power up to 330 feet (100 m) over a single CATx cable. The XTP CP boards are HDCP compliant, and support computer and video resolutions up to 1920x1200, including 1080p/60 with Deep Color and 2K. Audio signals can be routed independently, including embedded HDMI audio, with one model also providing simultaneous multi-channel audio downmixing to two-channel PCM stereo audio for separate distribution. To streamline integration, the boards enable Ethernet extension and bidirectional RS-232 and IR insertion for LAN access and AV device control at remote endpoints.

Available in four-input and four-output sizes, each XTP port on the boards is partnered with an accompanying Ethernet extension port that allows for convenient transmission of 10/100 Ethernet over the same twisted pair cable. In addition, bidirectional RS-232 and IR insertion is provided for AV device control at remote locations.

The XTP CP 4i is an XTP input board capable of receiving signals from remote source locations up to 330 feet away. It supports four XTP inputs along with Ethernet extension and features four local bidirectional RS-232 and IR insertion ports for simultaneous control of remote devices.

For audio, the input board provides comprehensive audio management with the ability to independently route stereo audio from XTP transmitters to any or all compatible switcher outputs. The XTP CP 4i can also de-embed two-channel PCM audio from HDMI signals for separate analog stereo audio signal routing. Incoming signals can be switched to an XTP output board for local or remote signal distribution.

The XTP CP 4i DMA includes all of the features of the XTP CP 4i but with one additional feature. The XTP CP 4i DMA provides multi-channel audio downmixing to two-channel PCM stereo audio for separate audio routing.

The XTP CP 4o is an XTP output board capable of transmitting signals to remote destinations up to 330 feet away. It supports four XTP outputs along with Ethernet extension, and features four bidirectional RS-232 and IR insertion ports for simultaneous control of remote AV devices.

The XTP CP 4i and XTP CP 4o boards also can remotely power select XTP transmitters and receivers over the same CATx cable used for sending AV signals. This reduces the need to separately power XTP devices at remote locations.

Extron recommends Extron-certified XTP DTP 24 shielded twisted pair cable, shielded RJ-45 plugs, jacks, and couplers engineered for optimum signal transmission with Extron XTP Systems. The XTP DTP 24 cable is certified to 475 MHz, and utilizes a SF/UTP design with four unshielded 24 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braid and foil shield for superior performance and noise immunity.

Extron XTP Systems
Extron XTP Systems provide a completely integrated switching and distribution solution for multiple digital and analog formats. They support local connectivity as well as extended transmission capability for sending high resolution video, audio, RS‑232, and Ethernet up to 330 feet (100 meters) over a shielded CATx cable and even greater distances over fiber optic cabling. Each system is HDCP compliant and delivers ultra‑fast, highly reliable digital switching with Extron's SpeedSwitch® Technology.

At the heart of a system is an XTP CrossPoint matrix switcher. The modular matrix switchers are expandable from 4x4 to 64x64, depending on frame size, and can be populated with a wide variety of XTP I/O matrix boards. Input and output boards provide direct HDMI, DVI, VGA, video, and audio connections to local sources and displays, and signal extension to remote endpoints when using XTP transmitters and receivers. The matrix switcher can also provide power to a remote XTP device over CATx cabling, depending on transmitter model.

The online XTP System Builder gives convenient access for complete system design. The tool also features a printable bill of materials, pricing, and quote submittal. Once the order is confirmed and received, the included XTP System Configuration Software enables easy setup and configuration right out of the box.

To configure, operate, and monitor the system in real time, user-friendly control software offers a complete view of all XTP devices from a computer. Compatible with CATx shielded twisted pair cable — The XTP CP I/O Boards fully support a maximum transmission distance of 330 feet (100 meters) for all compatible resolutions when used with CATx shielded twisted pair cable. Shielded twisted pair cabling with solid center conductor sizes of 24 AWG or better is recommended for optimal performance.
Bidirectional RS-232 and IR insertion for AV device control — Bidirectional RS-232 control and IR signals can be transmitted alongside the video signal, allowing the remote device to be controlled without the need for additional cabling. Bidirectional control insertion eliminates the need for control system wiring to remote devices.
